A perfect property begs for a perfect home, and a tear-down is often the simplest move toward achieving what works best for your family. When our clients acquired this truly stunning parcel, perched high on a critical dune along Lake Michigan, the existing structure was dark, dated and in need of reconfiguring to function comfortably as the family’s vacation home. Leaving only the garage standing, we started from square one with the rest of the 3800 sq ft house, taking care to stay within the former home’s footprint. An open floor plan extends the well-appointed kitchen to the back patio, showcasing a spectacular wine cellar and custom fireplace along the way. Sound-proofed bedrooms offer solitude, and a new game room above the garage is a cozy play space for kids and adults alike. We call it The Aerie because eagles love it here… They kept a vigil in the backyard trees throughout construction.

“Though Scott was an engineer by trade, as a builder, Scott has a wonderful knack for modern design. We incorporated many of his ideas into both our interior and exterior finishes.

We were particularly impressed with how Scott worked around our schedule to update and communicate all aspects of our build so that we remained well informed. To many builders, time is money and sooner is better. I feel that Scott is more focused on the quality of the end product, taking time to research, verify, and verify again to ensure that all aspects of the build are perfected.” - Homeowner
